The Lake Wales Arts Center has something for everyone. It is a treasure trove of visual art and music located in the charming historic building at the corner of State Road 60 and 11th Street in Lake Wales, Florida. The Lake Wales Arts Center is owned and operated by the Lake Wales Arts Council and offers a year-round variety of classes, concerts and exhibitions in a state-of-the-arts gallery.
The Lake Wales Arts Center is open to the public Monday-Friday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 1 - August 31. From September 1 - May 31 the Arts Center is also open Saturday from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. and Sunday from 1 - 4 p.m. There is no admission fee! Visitors may enjoy our current exhibit in the Michael Crews Gallery, the Permanent Collection throughout the building and the historic, Spanish Mission-style building, formerly the Holy Spirit Catholic Church built in 1927.
CURRENT ATTRACTIONS at the Lake Wales Arts Center:
Cay Ballou Eden:Oil Paintings will open on Thursday, January 25 with a reception from 5 - 7 p.m. and be on display through March 18. Ms. Eden's work is filled with light and color. She is a graduate of Vassar College where she studied under Lewis Rubenstein and Wendell Jones. The Lake Wales Arts Council is proud to present Ms. Edens' work for your enjoyment.

On Thursday, March 1 the Lake Wales Arts Council will sponsor a tour to The John and Mable Ringling Museum in Sarasota. Spend the day viewing the wonderful artwork, circus museum and a fabulous lunch, all for one price of $60 for members and $65 for all others. Reserve you seat now!

Since 1981 the Alexander String Quartet has performed in major musical capitals of four continents including two performances in Lake Wales. We are proud to bring this world-famous quartet back for another incredible concert. They were given rave reviews by new York Times critic Anthony tommasini after performances of the complete Shostakovich quartets last April. February 16, 2007 Synergy Brass Quintet Sponsored by Gibson & Valenti
The Synergy Brass Quintet has been bringing a new, exciting brand of chamber music to audiences since 1996. Their high artistic standard and unstoppable energy have made them one of the country's finest brass ensembles. They bring to their audiences a wide variety of music, ranging from the early Renaissance to the Modern, Jazz and Rock. Their American tour indluced performances at major music festivals such as Ravinia and Tanglewood. Tickets are $25 for Arts Council members and $30 for all others. Special student pricing available.
February 24, 2007 An Evening In Vienna with Edmund Barton Bullock Sponsored by Dr. and Mrs. Murray Miller
Edmund Barton Bullock, pianist and composer, returns to Lake Wales after his impressive debut with cellist Brooks Whitehouse in 2003. This time he adds a violin to the mix to add even more excitement to the evening. The concert will be the final event in what promises to be a watershed musical event in Lake Wales. At the concert, he will premiere a new work for Piano Trio commissioned by our sponsors Dr. and Mrs. Murray Miller. Tickets are $20 for Arts Council members and $25 for all others. The Georgia Guitar Quartet has emerged as a powerful new voice on today's music scene. Five talented performers bring over forty-six melodies from The Sound of Music, The King and I, Oklahoma, Carousel, South Pacific and State Fair alive in a fresh and vibrant new way.
