Edward Ryan Bailey: A Return to Regionalism
June 6 - July 8, 2002
Opening Reception, Thursday, June 6, 2002 5-7 p.m.
This exhibition features over a decade of artwork, polychromed low-relief wood surfaces, mixed media works on paper, and acrylics on canvas. Found objects add the modern element of the sculptural fragment. Bailey's work has been strongly influenced by the most "American" of American artists, the Regionalists, and their focus on the figuative element. His subject matter deals with family relatons, laborers, and the average individual.
